Cavalry Equipment

The equipment on the cavalry page, was made to the specifications of US Army Ordinance manuals. All leather is US Tanned and #1 hides.

Most importantly is how they are cut from the hide. The Items that take the most stress (halter, leads, link straps etc.) are cut from the back of the hide. This is the strongest area of leather. Items that get less stress are cut from what is left. All leather is oiled to a degree to allow for suppleness but not over oiled to weaken the leather. All items are double machined stitched, but hand stitching with period threads can be custom ordered.

Headstall is 6 buckle,

3 & 5 buckle can also be ordered

Breast collar with brass heart,

Civilian and enlisted models can also be ordered

Civil War size saddle bag

A slightly larger version and

Indian wars style can be ordered

Halters, first cut from the strongest area of the hide.

All hardware is MI black and all leather is cut to a full 1 1/8"
